CHURCH FAMILY INFORMATION

Annual Report Books are available at the Welcome Centre.

Last Sunday, 143 Ballots for Deacons were received and processed. All potential Deacons have been contacted. Please pray for these couples and individuals as they continue to discern this call.

The Deacon Fund is maintained by donations given above budget. Currently we are low on funds. If you would like to donate, please designate “Deacon Fund” on an offering envelope, and place it in the offering.

Nurture Council is pleased to announce that a Women’s Retreat will be held Sept. 23-25 at Camp Moose Lake. Theme: Identity in Christ. Registration will begin in April. Contact committee members Elma Schroeder, Amalie Hiebert, Irma Peters & Dorothy Schinkel for more info.

Our Boys Club Father/Son retreat is coming up on March 18-20 at Camp Moose Lake! Registration forms are available at the Welcome Centre and from Ernie Toews. Please hand in your registration form to Ernie as soon as possible.

Supper Club Groups are listed at the Welcome Centre. The first name on the list will initiate the first supper. We wish for each of you great visiting over great food.

Paraguayan  Mennonite Culture Night - MCC's Low German Mennonite Services Program is hosting a Paraguayan Mennonite Culture Night at Sam's Place on March 4, 2016 at 7:30 pm. This event takes the place of the one that was scheduled for Feb 25. Musical guests include 3MolPlaut, Low German folk singers. Program Coordinator, Tina Fehr Kehler, will share stories about her work, and Elfrieda Schroeder will share her musings on the Paraguayan Mennonite experience.

The Mennonite Community Orchestra conducted by William Gordon will be presenting a Spring Concert on Sunday, March 13th  at 3:00 PM in CMU’s Chapel,  south side of the 600 Shaftesbury Blvd Campus.  They will perform  Glinka’s Ruslan and Ludmilla Overture,  Gordon Jacob’s Old Wine in New Bottles for winds, and Brahms’ Symphony #3.  Tickets: Adults $15, Students $5 available at the door; children 12 and under, free admission.

 

MC Canada Bulletin  Announcements for Sunday, February 21, 2016:    

·         Area Churches and Congregations are invited to submit advance resolutions for discernment at the Mennonite Church Canada Annual Delegate Assembly in Saskatoon this coming July 6-10. Advance resolutions help congregational discernment in preparation for the Assembly. Guidelines and a template can be found at www.commonword.ca/go/502 .
