Byron & Melita Rempel-Burkholder are on a MC Canada short-term ministry assignment in Bethlehem. Pray that God will provide many ways for them to share a biblical vision of shalom and nonviolence in a holy and beautiful land where people are constant targets of suspicion and violence.

Yuri Klaz and the choir of First Mennonite Church warmly invite you to their presentation of the passion oratorio by Carl Loewe, Das Suehnopfer des neuen Bundes.  This dramatic oratorio tells the story of Jesus' capture, arrest, mock trial and execution with excerpts from all 4 gospels.   Many of you will remember hearing it performed or have performed it yourself as this work was the hallmark of FMC choral singing for many years.  Das Suehnopfer will be presented on Good Friday at 7pm. with orchestra and soloists at the church at 922 Notre Dame Avenue.  An offering will be taken. 

1.     You’re invited to A Fresh Look at CMU: A Spring Evening Fundraiser in support of Canadian Mennonite University on Thursday, April 7 from 7 – 9 PM.  This year’s spring event will be held at the university’s Shaftesbury campus.  The evening will begin with your program choice in one of three different campus locations—Marpeck Commons, the Great Hall, and the Laudamus Auditorium, following which we will gather in the Loewen Athletic Centre. Germinating Conversations -  Reflecting deeply, spiritually and theologically about land may be one of the best ways that we can move ourselves forward into action on ecological challenges. Gather with others – farmers, eaters, theologians and pastors - to listen, think and respond to challenges around life with the land. There will be discussion, and there will be food! IVEP night - Join the participants in MCC's International Volunteer Exchange Program who are serving in Manitoba this year for a taste of the stories, music and food from their home countries—Brazil, Columbia, Ethiopia, Indonesia and Venezuela. Feast of Words - Good books and great food collide on March 15th at Sam's Place!
