Ø  Miscellaneous Announcements

 

·         The MHC Gallery (600 Shaftesbury, Winnipeg) invites you to attend I came from a faraway land:  voices of newcomers from Iraq and Syria.  Come hear a panel discussion with newcomers to Winnipeg from Iraq and Syria as they share stories of life before and after coming to Canada.  The event will take place at the Canadian Mennonite University Chapel (south campus) on May 5, 2016 at 7 pm followed by a reception in the MHC Gallery.  All are welcome to attend!

 

·         The 2nd Annual Symposium on Third Culture Care will be held on May 27-28. Featured speakers Duncan and Olwyn Westwood will speak from years of cross-cultural and clinical experience to assist pastors, congregations, families, friends and other caregivers who walk alongside those that have served in cross-cultural church, mission and service work. There will also be a variety of workshops and time for networking with others who have served internationally. Canadian Mennonite University Events and Opportunities for Church Bulletins

 

1.       All are invited to the events of CMU Graduation weekend, including the following:

·         Spring Choral Concert: enjoy performances by the CMU Singers and the CMU Men’s and Women’s Choruses on Saturday, April 23, 7:00 PM at the Loewen Athletic Centre, 500 Shaftesbury Blvd.

4.      Freedom of Movement: The 9th annual conference of the Canadian Association for Refugees and Forced Migration Studies (CARFMS) will take place at Menno Simons College on May 11–14. Internationally recognized scholars, legal experts, and practitioners will explore what the fundamental right to “Freedom of Movement” means in today’s global refugee crisis.
