MDS PRAYER REQUEST

 Mennonite Disaster Service (MDS) monitoring fires in Fort McMurray. The MDS Alberta Unit is on standby, ready to help when called upon. At this point MDS is accepting financial donations, but is unable to accept material donations, such as clothing and other goods. Canadian Mennonite University Events and Opportunities for Church Bulletins

 

1.      CMU’s Community School of Music and the Arts celebrates its 10th Anniversary with a recital featuring vocal and instrumental solos and ensembles by instructors David Letkeman, Wes Elias, Bertha Elias, Rebecca Klassen-Wiebe, Nathaniel Froese, Jesse Krause, Judith Oatway and others. The event takes place on Sunday, May 15 at 2:30 PM in the Great Hall, 500 Shaftesbury. Admission free. Reception to follow. All are welcome.

 

2.      Ignite your Passion at CMU Blazers Summer Sports Camps 2016! Try out two of Canada’s fastest-growing sports at Junior (grades 5-8) soccer and Youth ultimate Frisbee (grades 7-10) camps August 22-26. 3.      Freedom of Movement: The 9th annual conference of the Canadian Association for Refugees and Forced Migration Studies (CARFMS) will take place at Menno Simons College on May 11–14. Internationally recognized scholars, legal experts, and practitioners will explore what the fundamental right to “Freedom of Movement” means in today’s global refugee crisis.
