Womit soll ich dich wohl loben

Verse 1

Womit soll ich dich wohl loben,
mächtiger Herr Zebaoth?
Sende mir dazu von oben
Deines Geistes Kraft, mein Gott;
denn ich kann mit nichts erreichen
deine Gnad und Liebeszeichen.
Tausend, tausend Mal sei dir,
großer König, Dank dafür.

Verse 2

Wie du setzest jedem Dinge
Zeit, Zahl, Maß, Gewicht und Ziel,
damit keinem zu geringe
möcht geschehen noch zu viel,
so hab ich auf tausend Weisen
deine Weisheit auch zu preisen.
Tausend, tausend Mal sei dir,
großer König, Dank dafür.

Verse 3

Bald mit Lieben, bald mit Leiden
kamst du, Herr, mein Gott, zu mir,
nur mein Herze zu bereiten,
sich ganz zu ergeben dir,
dass mein gänzliches Verlangen
möcht an deinem Willen hangen.
Tausend, tausend Mal sei dir,
großer König, Dank dafür.
