MC Canada has appointed a national working group to follow up on the resolution passed in July, 2016, to promote awareness and advocate for peace in Palestine and Israel. As congregations work to understand what justice means for Jews and Arabs living in Palestine/Israel, pray that God will open doors to conversation and that the gospel of Jesus will guide and grace our responses. Please pray also for the working group as they embark on their work.

MC Canada Bulletin Announcements for Sunday – January 15, 2017

  • Come hear stories from women in the Along the Road to Freedom paintings and from more recently arrived women from the Middle East, Africa and Latin America at the Mennonite Heritage Centre event, “Refugee Storytelling” on Sunday, January 22, 2:30 pm at the Grand Staircase of the Manitoba Legislative Building.

WEEK OF PRAYER 2017

From January 18-25, the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will be celebrated around the world. The theme for 2017 is “Reconciliation – the Love of Christ Compels Us,” inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:14-20. An Ecumenical Worship Celebration will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, January 25 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 465 Henry St., Steinbach. This is a joint service between St. Paul’s and St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church of La Broquerie.  All are cordially invited to this celebration.
